A key player in France
In France, EDF Energies Nouvelles is a leading player in the development of onshore and offshore wind capacity, marine energy and solar (power plant and distributed rooftop) energy.
EDF Energies Nouvelles has developed or acquired more than 80 wind farms and more than 20 large solar power plants. More recently, the company acquired a position in renewable marine energy (bottom-fixed and floating offshore wind, tidal current).
In France, the Group currently operates more than 1,760 MW of installed capacity and has 129 MW of projects under construction. Thus EDF Energies Nouvelle is expanding in several segments:
The company confirms its position as a sector leader with more than 1 GW of wind capacity in operation. EDF Energies Nouvelles supports local authorities’ development projects and undertakes to deliver high-quality installations.
Mont des Quatre Faux project, located in the Ardennes region (north-east), is one of the most ambitious wind farm currently under development in France.

The company is also a leader in the development of offshore wind energy with three major projects, Fécamp, Courseulles sur Mer and Saint Nazaire, totalling about 1.5 GW.
For several years, EDF Energies Nouvelles has been developing new expertise in renewable marine energy, with an industrial tidal energy project under development at Raz Blanchard, also in northwestern France, and a pilot floating wind farm project planned off Fos sur Mer in southeastern France.
In the photovoltaic solar segment, activity is resuming in solar plants, following strong development between 2008 and 2012. In rooftop solar, the company works through its subsidiary EDF ENR Solaire which has extensive operations in France with more than 15,000 residential and 900 business site installations.
Through its European subsidiary EDF EN Services, headquartered in France, the Group is also a recognized player in the operation and maintenance of wind farms and solar power stations with 3 GW in management in France and 18 maintenance antennas spread over the territory.
An operation-maintenance partner in excellence
Through its European subsidiary EDF EN Services, headquartered in France, the Group is also an acknowledged player in the operation and maintenance of wind farms and solar plants, with 1.7 GW under management in France and 18 maintenance locations throughout the country.

The EDF Group “Solar Power Plan”
Led by EDF Energies Nouvelles, this plan aims to grow the Group’s photovoltaic solar installed capacity in France to 30 GW between 2020 and 2035.
One way of achieving this goal is by multiplying utility-scale projects in France while maintaining the existing schemes. The EDF Group brings full support, by providing available land near its power plants. We will also be working together with the public authorities to identify suitable parcels of land for the construction of new solar facilities.
“The Solar Power Plan is of an unparalleled scale and marks a real turning point in EDF’s development of solar power capacity. It is a concrete illustration of the goals outlined in the Group’s CAP 2030 strategy, which was initiated in 2015 and aim to double the Group’s installed renewable energy capacity by 2030. EDF now has a new roadmap in renewables for the next fifteen years”. Jean-Bernard Lévy, EDF Chairman and Chief Executive
