In its bid to reach its objective of 3,000 MW in net capacity at
year-end 2011, EDF Energies Nouvelles is reaping the benefits of its positioning as an integrated and diversified international and multi-segment operator. The Group is pursuing a clear strategy: a profitable growth model, development focused primarily on wind energy and a ramp-up in the other segments.

Bolster wind energy operations, a development priority
Developed on a large scale, onshore wind energy will remain the Group’s principal avenue of expansion over the coming years. The objective is to consolidate its positions in Europe and the United States through organic growth.
Develop new sources of growth
The Group is gradually ramping up its presence in segments with a bright future, its sources of future growth: solar energy, offshore wind energy, biomass, biofuels, renewable energies in the home in partnership with the EDF group, and sea energies.
Pursue controlled international expansion

The objective is to continue penetrating markets in which the Group boasts strong positions (France, Italy, United Kingdom, Portugal, Greece and North America) and to consider other expansion moves only if markets harbour the combined prospect of strong potential and stability.

Affirm its position as an integrated operator

A green electricity producer, EDF Energies Nouvelles has a presence spanning all the segments of the industry value chain: development, construction, power plant operation and maintenance. The Group intends to hone its operations & maintenance expertise in Europe by setting up a specialised unit.

Pursue the development and sale of structured assets
