Wind power generating capacity increased by 19% (1) in 2006 in Europe, the largest wind power market and by 27% in the USA (2). Of its segments, wind power is EDF Energies Nouvelles' main growth driver in and outside France. With wind farms in operation in Europe and the US, wind power currently accounts for 84% of the Group's total installed capacity.
The 2002 acquisition of enXco, a leading wind energy player in the US, gave a considerable boost to our expansion in wind power.
