EDF EN is in its second achievement in the field of storage: the solar plant Toucan in Guyana (5 MWp) and the project McHenry in the United States (20 MW, 40 MW of dynamic capacity). These storage systems are innovating by combining energy storage battery and a computerized control software. These two projects mark a technological breakthrough for the development of new applications in renewable energy.
EDF Energies Nouvelles, in partnership with DCNS, is developing the project “Hydro Normandy.” This park consists of 7 turbines posed in the Raz Blanchard, off Cotentin. For this project EDF Energies Nouvelles and DCNS were winners of the call for expression of Interest (AMI) of ADEME on December 2, 2014.
Offshore floating wind
A new solution for the future to expand the scope of implementation of offshore wind turbines. For several years, EDF Energies Nouvelles has been supporting the development of this technology through the project Riviera Grand Large, a pilot farm in the Mediterranean.
Biomass & Biogas
EDF Energies Nouvelles operates a biomass plant operated from fried olive pulp, Spain (26MW in Lucena in Andalusia).
The company also acquired a majority stake in the US company Beacon Landfill Gas Holdings which has the expertise and know-how to process biogas from waste landfills and treatment plants.
